and Detox
Why
do a cleansing and cellular detoxification program?
A
cleanse is like an oil change for your body. Would
you consider driving your car year after year without
changing the oil? Cleansing is the process of eliminating
the buildup of waste and toxins from the cells, organs
and blood. This is done by reducing foods that leave
behind a toxic residue, adding foods that have health
inducing effects and adding some powerful cleansing
protocols to your daily routine.
I
don't know of a stronger method or a shorter route
back to health than through a well-executed cleansing
program. Cellular cleansing is the key to returning
your digestive and immune systems back to optimum
functioning. My 28 day program is a food-based, holistic
lifestyle overhaul that will help you develop a foundation
of health and the practical skills that you need to
live a long, healthy life.
Trying
to cleanse on your own can be very challenging. But
with proper support and guidance, a cleanse can be
simple and empowering. You will have cravings initially,
but they will fade and I will support you every step
of the way. At the end of the 28 day program, you
will feel better than you have ever felt. Not only
that, but you will have the tools to support your
own health for the rest of your life.
Juice
fasting or food-based cleansing?
I
offer three different versions of cleansing programs.
The first is juice fasting. The second is food-based
cleansing. The third is a combination of both. For
most people, I recommend doing a combination of juice
fasting and food-based cleansing. This means that
for the first 7 days of the cleanse, you will drink
only liquids. For the rest of the 21 days, you will
eat a clean, organic, vegan diet. The combination
of both of these approaches is powerful. The first
7 days of juice fasting allows your digestive system
to rest and it thoroughly cleans out your colon. Then,
once you are eating solid food again, it is much easier
to make the switch to the cleansing food diet without
going through as many craving and withdrawal symptoms.
Most
clients feel a little "spacey" the first
day of juice fasting, but that feeling usually starts
to shift from day 2 onward. I have had clients who
do manual labor work a full day on the juice fast
and I myself have been able to see a full load bodywork
clients even on day 10 of a juice fast. Most people
are surprised to find that they have plenty of energy
and they feel light and clear.
A
typical day of juice fasting includes:
- Water
- Celery/Grapefruit
juice - one of my favorites for breakfast
- Lots
of Green juice - celery, kale, cucumber, apple,
lemon
- Coconut
water - full of electrolytes!
- Vegetable
broth - savory, warm and full of nutrients
- Apple/Lemon
juice
- Green
powder drink - saves time juicing and adds more
vitamins and minerals
- Herbal
tea
(I
have extra juicers to loan to you if you don't have
one and I will teach you how to make all of the juice
and broth in person.)

My
Assumptions
There
is a direct connection between the foods that you
eat and your body's current state of health.
Our
bodies are self-regenerating. Just as our hair and
nails regenerate themselves, so do the cells of our
skin, internal organs, muscles and bones. Our cellular
regeneration requires fuel in the form of the foods
that we consume. Thus, the quality of our food intake
affects the quality of our cells.
We
are all unique and have unique dietary needs. Not
everyone should be a vegetarian, vegan, raw foodist
or meat-eater. In the long run, each of us must eat
what works best for our own body. However, in order
to cleanse, certain foods that are more difficult
to digest need to be removed from your diet.
The
Protocol
My
program is 28 days long. I will work with you in person
as your personal cleansing assistant for the first
few days of your cleanse. I will come to your home
(or you can come to mine) and spend as much of the
day with you as you like. I recommend reducing your
daily responsibilities for the first few days of the
cleanse. However, if you must work, I can work around
your schedule.
I
will shop for you, prepare food for you, teach you
about food, exercise with you, do daily bodywork on
you and provide you with all of the counseling and
support that you need during this rich, life-changing
experience. After we get you through the first day
or days one-on-one, you will continue for the remainder
of the 28 days with a workbook as well as phone and
email support.
Here
are just a few of the specific protocols that you
will follow during the cleanse:
- Removal
of health compromising, allergenic foods - refined
sugars, oils, grains, dairy, processed foods
- Addition
of health inducing foods - whole, organic, enzyme
rich, mineral rich, alkalizing foods
- Smart
Supplementation - enzymes, probiotics, superfoods,
anti-fungals, herbs
- Toxic
Waste Removal - cleansing supplements and protocols
for flushing toxins from the organs
- Proper
Hydration - daily juicing and intake of natural
electrolytes and minerals
- Cardiovascular
Exercise - 30 minutes of daily exercise - rebounding,
hiking, jogging, swimming, yoga
- Deep
Bodywork - to improve posture and restore tissues
to optimum functioning
- Cleansing
Tools - We will use my rebounder,
twin-gear
juicer and 3
horsepower blender
The
Cost
Juice
Fast only - $500
- this is a 4 to 5 hour day and includes making all
of the juices together and a bodywork session. I will
loan you a Greenstar juicer and show you how to use
it.
Food
Prep only - $750 - this is an 8 hour day
and it includes shopping for food, preparation of
3 meals, customized cleanse protocol and 1 bodywork
session.
"The
Whole Enchilada"- $1200 - we'll do the
juice fast day together and then 7 or 8 days later,
we'll do the full food prep day.
Free
Consultation - If you are thinking about doing a cleanse,

for phone consultations or in-person meetings, depending
on your needs.
Note:
the cost of food and supplements is not included in
the cost of the program. Supplements usually cost
between $100-150. If you do the juice fast only, supplements
cost about $75.
The
Value
I
am not aware of another cleanse, detox, nutrition,
or holistic weight loss program in the San Francisco
Bay Area that is as comprehensive or gives you as
much support as my program. Immersion is the key to
changing habits.
This
cleanse will give you the support, knowledge and skills
that you need to take care of yourself and your family
for the rest of your lives. You won't have to re-learn
anything. You will have the most up to date knowledge
on nutrition, health and longevity in your hands.
Can you even think of anything that is more important
than your health? How much do you spend per year on
auto and home repairs? Doing a cleanse is the best
health insurance you can buy because it is proactive
and preventative.
The
Diet
Because
animal proteins are more complex to digest than plant
proteins, most, but not all clients will be on a vegan
diet. This means that you won't eat any meat, eggs
or dairy products for 28 days. If you've never tried
this before, I suggest that you give it try. I have
had clients who thought this would be impossible because
of their high level of activity and they were surprised
to have more energy on this diet than their previous
diet that included animal proteins.
In
addition, most sugars will be eliminated from your
diet in order to break your addiction to sugar and
rid your gut of candida overgrowth. You will notice
less cravings and less energy swings because of eliminating
sugars from your diet. Getting off of sugar is one
of the most powerful things that you can do for your
health.
The
diet is based on vegetables and whole grains such
as quinoa, millet, amaranth and brown rice. You will
eat delicious soups, salads, warm grain bowls and
much more. You will get plenty of protein from foods
such as tempeh, quinoa, spirulina, beans, nuts, seeds
and superfood supplements.
Will
I lose weight?
If
you are overweight, you will lose weight. If you are
at your ideal weight, you will stay there. You will
get the right amount of calories for your body each
day. Weight loss that happens because of eating too
few calories or by overexercising doesn't work because
those strategies don't last. Losing weight and keeping
it off happens when you change habits. Changing habits
takes time.
Losing
weight through this cleanse is one of the best ways
to lose weight and keep it off because you will lose
it gradually. Also, you will learn valuable knowledge
and practical skills during this cleanse that you
will be able to incorporate into your diet after the
cleanse is over.
I
have worked with my own weight issues for many years
and I believe that there is much more to losing weight
than just choosing better foods. There are almost
always emotional reasons for our binging or overeating
and we must work with our emotional triggers in order
to heal.

the end of the cleanse you will have:

Can't

Since
I work in my client's homes, most of my cleansing
and detox work is in the San Francisco Bay Area. However,
I am willing to travel almost anywhere in the U.S.
to work with clients.
